PAUL ROARK: BETWEEN LIGHT & DARK

Elverhøj Museum of History & Art welcomes local photographer, Paul Roark, for an exhibition titled “Between Light & Dark” on display February 16-April 14, 2019. The opening reception on Saturday, February 16th will start with a gallery walk with the artist at 4pm followed by refreshments from 4:30-6pm. On Saturday, March 23 at 4pm the museum will host a panel discussion exploring various approaches to black and white photography. These events are free and open to the public.

Roark always had an interest in photography and won numerous awards while attending high school in Glendale. Once he retired from his life as a lawyer he switched his focus to photography full-time. He quickly became an innovator in digital black and white photography and was named one of three most influential pioneers in the genre. He has developed his own inkset and printing process, achieving a saturation and tonality truly unique to his art.
